In my opinion, there is nothing quite as beautiful as the female figure. It is smooth, curvy and has the ability to move with grace and strength. What is put on the body only changes how others view the figure, it does not alter what the figure is although it can change how the body moves. My prosthesis is all about complimenting the body’s ability to move. The fabric is meant to move in reaction to the body and to extend the sense of motion seen and felt when the person wearing the garment moves.
This performance was about capturing the movement of the body in relation to what we put on the body. The garment I made was meant to amplify fluidity with every movement, while also referencing the beginning of modern dance and the liberation of the body.
